Hammes Company celebrates grand opening of Montana Children’s

Milwaukee, WI, June 27, 2019 – Hammes Company, the nation’s leading healthcare developer as ranked by Modern Healthcare’s Construction and Design Survey, is pleased to celebrate in the grand opening of the new Montana Children’s facility at Kalispell Regional Healthcare on June 29.
Hammes Company served as the project manager for Kalispell Regional Healthcare’s multiple expansion and renovation projects since 2016, most recently completing the new 190,000-square-foot Montana Children’s pediatric center. Montana Children’s, the only facility of its kind in the state of Montana, was created to provide local and regional access to high-quality pediatric specialty care. It includes a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) and a pediatric acute care unit, along with supporting services such as therapeutic areas and family rooms built for long-term stays. Before the build out of the new children’s facility at Kalispell, families had to travel to Seattle, Denver, or Salt Lake City for specialized neonatal and pediatric services.
“Every inch of this new facility is designed for children and families. Montana Children’s isn’t just a health care facility, it is a place where children can feel at home, feel at ease, and feel cared for — in an environment made just for them,” said Teresa Fisher, Administrator, Montana Children’s. “Our staff has eagerly awaited the day that we can welcome children into the new facility. We are incredibly excited to share it with the community.”
“It’s been a pleasure working with Kalispell Regional Healthcare,” said Rick Schroeder, senior project executive at Hammes Company. “We’re excited to see Montana Children’s come to life as a significant part of Kalispell’s multi-stage expansion and renovation project.”
During the nearly four-year relationship, Hammes has provided project management for the build-out of a 32,000-square-foot, 18-bed ICU in the existing surgery tower; the 26,000-square-foot Digestive Health Institute of Montana; and the expansion and renovation of an 8,400-square-foot emergency department into a state-of-the-art 34,000-square-foot emergency and trauma department.
