Hammes Healthcare Operational Readiness Executives to speak at 2025 Congress on Healthcare Leadership

Kathy Brown and Terri Palazzo will speak at the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) 2025 Congress on Healthcare Leadership in Houston on March 26.

Milwaukee, WI, March 18, 2025 – Hammes, a national real estate consulting, development, investment and management firm, is proud to announce that its Operational Readiness Executives, Terri Palazzo and Katherine Kay Brown, will speak at the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) 2025 Congress on Healthcare Leadership, the premier education and networking event for healthcare executives.

On March 26, Terri and Katherine will present the session "More Than a Snapshot in Time: Operational and Finance Diligence Across the Life Cycle of Capital Projects." They will be joined by Melody F. Dickerson, Senior Vice President, Hospital Operations and Chief Nursing Officer for VHC Health. The session will outline ways healthcare executives can validate the operational and financial assumptions that form the foundation for major capital projects, such as a new hospital, that can span anywhere from five to 10 years from the initial strategic planning phase through to design, construction and occupancy.

As Operational Readiness Executives with Hammes Healthcare, Terri and Katherine work alongside healthcare executives to ensure organizations are operationally poised to receive and serve patients upon opening a new or renovated healthcare facility.

With a background in nursing, Terri has nearly three decades of clinical and operational experience. Prior to joining Hammes, she applied her expertise and leadership skills to various clinical specialty roles, such as Director of Cardiovascular Surgery. She is a member of ACHE and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACH). Terri holds a Master of Science in Nursing Administration from Georgetown University

Kathy also began her career in nursing. She combines her patient-first, front-line care delivery perspective with over 20 years of experience in healthcare facility design and operational planning. She has published several articles on evidence-based design and best practices for designing spaces to incorporate operational efficiencies and workflows. She has spoken at numerous conferences. Kathy holds a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania.

ACHE Congress draws over 6,000 healthcare professionals, thought leaders, and decision-makers from across the country. The 2025 ACHE Congress will be held March 24 – 27 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas.
